Third Quarter Surge Pushes Hilltoppers Past Cameron

LAWTON, Okla. — The St. Edward's women's basketball team flipped the script after halftime, storming back with a decisive third quarter and locking down late to secure a 60–56 road win over the Cameron Aggies on Thursday afternoon at Aggie Gymnasium.

Trailing 30–23 at the break, the Hilltoppers found their rhythm coming out of the locker room, ripping off a 21–13 third quarter to seize momentum. A pair of triples from SUNI DAVIS ignited the surge, while RAMSEY ROBLEDO's confident shot-making and steady ball movement helped St. Edward's turn defense into offense and take a 44–43 lead into the fourth.

The final 10 minutes were a grind, but St. Edward's composure showed. MIKAH CHAPMAN and JASMYN JACKSON delivered timely baskets in the paint, and the Hilltoppers repeatedly answered Cameron pushes with stops and poise at the free-throw line. KIANA BENNETT knocked down four free throws in the final two minutes, and Davis sealed the game with a steal and feed to Beck for the 60-56 lead in the final 30 seconds.

Davis paced the Hilltoppers with 18 points, knocking down three 3-pointers and adding three steals, while Robledo finished an efficient 6-for-8 from the floor, including 3-for-4 from deep, for 15 points. Chapman chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds, and Jackson provided a physical spark off the bench with seven points and six boards.

St. Edward's forced 15 turnovers and held Cameron to 16.7 percent shooting from beyond the arc and 34.8 percent overall, turning defensive pressure into timely offense when it mattered most. The win improves the Hilltoppers to 10–8 overall, and 4–6 in the Lone Star Conference. The Hilltoppers will return home ahead of the winter storm and host St. Mary's on Tuesday.
