AUSTIN, Texas — St. Edward's midfielders SIERRA PADILLA and RILEY SISSON earned All-Lone Star Conference Third Team honors, the league announced Wednesday, recognizing the Hilltoppers' top two scorers following a productive finish to the season.
Padilla led St. Edward's with five goals and 10 points, making the most of her opportunities with five goals on 14 shots. The junior from Fort Worth appeared in 12 matches, starting seven, and scored in each of the Hilltoppers' final four contests.
Her late-season surge included the game-winner against Texas A&M International, goals against No. 1 DBU and Lubbock Christian, and a goal in the season finale at Sul Ross State. Against Lubbock Christian, Padilla headed in MACY JENNINGS' free kick at the far post to erase a two-goal deficit, setting the stage for a 3-2 comeback victory.
Sisson finished second on the team with four goals and nine points, adding an assist while starting all 18 matches. The senior from Austin logged 1,278 minutes and delivered one of the Hilltoppers' defining performances of the season in the road win over Lubbock Christian.
With St. Edward's trailing 2-0, Sisson finished Jennings' cross to bring the Hilltoppers within a goal before halftime. After Padilla supplied the equalizer, Sisson converted a penalty kick in the 72nd minute to complete the comeback. Her two-goal performance earned LSC Offensive Player of the Week recognition.
Together, Padilla and Sisson combined for nine goals and 19 points, providing timely finishing as St. Edward's remained in postseason contention entering its final regular-season match.
The all-conference teams were selected by the league's head coaches.
