Redshirt Junior (2015-16): Appeared in all 12 events for the Hilltoppers, compiling a 79.1 scoring average in 25 rounds of action…had three top-10 finishes and one top-5 finish…had a 63.5 winning percentage…started the season with a tie for seventh place finish at the UIndy Fall Invitational (9/14-15)…had her best result at the Heartland Conference Championship (4/18-19) where she shot even-par and finished tied for second place.
Junior (2014-15): Appeared in one event, tallying a scoring average of 78.5 in two rounds of action…finished tied for 13
that the St. Edward’s Invitational.
Sophomore (2013-14): In her second year as a Hilltopper she competed in two rounds of golf compiling an 84.5 scoring average.
Freshman (2012-13): Competed in 13 rounds and six tournaments in her first season at St. Edward’s…her best finish came at the Harold Funston Memorial Classic when she finished tied for third (71-75-73=219)…in her first collegiate tournament she finished the ASU Concho River Classic tied for 13
th (79-73=152)…had a win-loss record of 306-171.
Prep: Competed four years at Edinburg High School…won eight Texas Junior Golf Tour events in her short career…South Texas Junior Golf Champion from 2009-2011…helped her team win the district championship all four years…won the regional championship in 2010-11 and 2011-12…finished tied for sixth at the state championship in 2011-12…was a member of the Mathematics Honor Society and the Chess Club…won the Superintendent Academic Excellence Award her junior and senior year…also received the “E” award both her junior and senior years.
Personal: Jessica Karin Tamen was born on Feb. 4, 1994…daughter of Lars and Hilda Tamen of Edinburg, Texas…has one sibling: Olivia (21)…studying kinesiology with career aspirations of becoming a teacher and a coach…enjoys being with friends, going to the movies, and playing glow in the dark Putt-Putt golf…also likes to watch her favorite NFL team, the Houston Texans…her biggest athletic thrill was winning Caroline Cup after being five strokes back with six holes to go…she tied the tournament with birdie on the 17
th hole and eventually won it all during the playoff.
