Taylor Land

Taylor Land returned home as assistant coach to his alma mater beginning with the 2016-17 season, a place where he was a four-year letterman from 2005-09.

In his first season as a full-time assistant, Land saw SEU post a 17-15 overall record and a 9-9 mark in conference play. Land helped guide Ramir Burton to Second-Team All-Heartland Conference honors and saw John Gramlich earn honorable mention honors from the conference.

In addition to the everyday responsibilities of a college basketball coach, Land spearheads the Hilltoppers’ strength and conditioning and skills development efforts.

Since his undergraduate playing days, Land played overseas in Australia’s State Basketball League for the Rockingham Flames, played two years for the Mandurah Magic (Australia SBL) and two for the Denmark-1st League’s Jonstrup Basket. Land had American coaching stints at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) in 2013-14, he volunteered as coach at SEU in 2012-13 and was a graduate assistant coach for UT-Pan American in 2009-10.
 
During his collegiate career, the Flower Mound, Texas native, helped lead SEU to a combined 85-33 record, was a member of three conference championship teams, and appeared in three NCAA Tournaments. He was also a relief pitcher on the SEU Baseball team his freshman through junior seasons. In 2009, Land was named the SEU Men’s Senior Student-Athlete of the Year.
 
Land received his bachelor degree in finance from St. Edward’s University in 2009, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
