Junior (2014-15): Finished the 2015-16 season 10-0 in Heartland Conference singles and doubles play… Overall record of 22-14, going 11-6 in singles and 11-8 in doubles… Played a majority of his matched at No. 4 singles, and split time between No. 1 and No. 2 doubles… Went 2-0 against Western New Mexico in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and helped team advance to NCAA Sweet 16.
Sophomore (2013-14): In his second season with the Hilltoppers he saw a singles record of 17-10 and a doubles record of 20-10…he maintained a perfect singles record within Heartland Conference play…recorded a singles match victory to help St. Edward’s defeat Colorado Mesa to advance to the Round of 32.
Freshman (2012-13): In his first season at St. Edwards, he saw a singles and doubles overall record of 11-14…was a perfect 5-0 in singles and doubles play within the Heartland Conference…his signature win came against Cameron’s Dennis Merden (04/29/13), winning 6-0, 6-3 in the NCAA Tournament…he and partner James Rogers downed a team from Grand Canyon (04/05/13) 8-6…another signature doubles win came against a Midwestern State duo (04/14/13), winning 8-2.
Prep: Competed at Cinco Ranch High School in Katy, Texas…in 2009 he was the singles district champion…in 2010 he repeated his championship and added a regional and state appearance in doubles…once again district and regional champion in 2011…finished third in the state...had a 46-6 overall high school record in doubles…won his team’s most outstanding player award four years in a row…member of National Honor Society…won the Leadership Award, the Science Award and held a 4.0 GPA throughout high school.
Personal: Maximo Juan Agoglia was born on Sept. 14, 1993…son of Jim and Gloria Agoglia of Katy, Texas…has one sibling: Franco (25)…studying international business with a career objective of becoming an entrepreneur…enjoys playing tennis, listening to music and reading…his biggest athletic thrill is the ability to compete at the highest level in tennis.
