Junior (2015): Appeared in all 49 games, while making 46 starts…registered a .277 batting average and a .408 on-base percentage…second on the team in stolen bases, swiping 24-of-28…also third on the team in runs scored with 30…split time in centerfield and at second base.
Sophomore (2014): Played in all 59 games and started 55 of them…recorded a .281 batting average with a .384 on-base percentage…finished the year with a team leading 23 stolen bases which was tied for seventh best in St. Edward’s softball history…stole multiple bases in the same game twice…finished the year with 38 hits while boasting a .400 slugging percentage…finished second on the team with 32 runs scored…led the team with 10 HBP which was good for second all-time in St. Edward’s softball history.
Freshman (2013): The all-conference freshman standout saw action in all 56 games while starting in 50…one of three players on the team to play in every game…the notoriously known slap hitter recorded a batting average of .275 in 120 at bats…recorded 33 hits and scored 19 runs…defensively, the outfielder had a fielding percentage of .932…strung together four straight games of recording one hit (03/06 – 03/09/13)…during that period, she scored two runs and laid down two successful sacrifice bunts.
Prep: Played four seasons of softball at Lehman High School…was the team leader for RBI’s and total runs scored from all four years…led the team with the best batting average her sophomore season…was the newcomer of the year runner-up her freshman season…was a member of the Leo Club, Student Council, National Honor Society and the Criminal Investigation Club.
Personal: Cydney Lee Ervin was born on March 20, 1994… daughter of Vermaine and Cheryle Ervin of Kyle, Texas…has one sibling: Jermaine (13)…plans to study forensics with career hopes of becoming a medical examiner…enjoys music, hanging out with friends, and collecting dolls…her biggest athletic thrill is the thrill of the game and competition that she experiences.
