Bria Johnson joined the women's basketball program in the fall of 2019 after playing four years at the Division I level under coach Donna Finnie at Houston Baptist University. There she was a four-year captain, appointed to the Dean's List four semesters in a row, elected to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2018 and served as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. During Johnson's sophomore year, she averaged 21.5 minutes a game, shot 87.5 percent from behind the line, had 17 assists and averaged 4.3 points per game before experiencing a season-ending injury.Â
In high school, Johnson was a two-year varsity starter and captain for head coach Jill McDill. Bria earned All-District, All-Region, and All-State honors as a senior was a member of the 2015 state championship team. She was nominated her senior year at Sunnyvale High School as a McDonald's All-American.Â
Bria graduated with a degree in Mathematics from HBU and is now pursuing a masters of science in Leadership and Change.Â
