Jeremy Garcia

St. Edward’s head volleyball coach Jeremy Garcia arrived on the Hilltop in the spring of 2025, bringing experience from three NCAA Division I Power Four volleyball programs at Texas, Penn State, and Duke. Across those stops, Garcia built a reputation for player development, recruiting, and creating elite student-athlete experiences.

Drawing from his background in performance analysis, technology, recruiting, and operations, Garcia immediately modernized the Hilltoppers’ approach to training, preparation, and player development while implementing systems designed to maximize the student-athlete experience.

The impact was immediate. In his first season, St. Edward’s increased its conference win total by six matches while producing all-conference selections Kelli Fording, Mia Clay, and Althea Morris. The rapid development of returning players continued a trend established throughout Garcia’s previous collegiate stops.

At Duke, Garcia worked closely with middle blockers, helping graduate student Jess Robinson earn AVCA All-East Coast Region and All-ACC honors. During his time at Penn State, he worked extensively with setters and defensive specialists, helping produce five Big Ten Setter of the Week awards and AVCA All-Northeast Region recognition within those position groups.

Garcia’s recruiting efforts helped Duke secure multiple nationally ranked recruiting classes, including a top-10 class in his final season as recruiting coordinator.

A native Austinite, Garcia brings deep ties to one of the nation’s premier volleyball regions. Raised around the University of Texas volleyball program, where his mother worked with the Longhorns, Garcia developed a passion for the sport while learning from some of the nation’s most respected coaches.

He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business in 2020 while serving as a student manager, practice player, and volunteer assistant for nationally ranked Texas teams.

Those experiences have helped Garcia build relationships throughout the Central Texas volleyball community, including connections with Austin Juniors Volleyball and Austin’s professional LOVB franchise.

Garcia has also enjoyed significant success in the club ranks. During three seasons coaching boys and girls national teams with Austin Juniors Volleyball, every national-level team he coached earned a bid to the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships, including three Open Division qualifications, a bronze medal finish, and two top-five national finishes.
