Stefanie Holler was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Success in the spring of 2023 after serving as St. Edward’s head volleyball coach for five seasons.
Holler guided the Hilltoppers to two conference championship matches, starting with an 18-12 first season in which St. Edward’s defeated host Lubbock Christian in the Heartland Conference semifinals, led by Heartland Libero of the Year Morgan Beckham. The Hilltoppers made another long postseason push in 2021, advancing to the Lone Star Conference championship match.
Holler was the assistant coach from 2015-17 under Mary DeJute, whom she also played for at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C.
She posted three winning records in five seasons, a 6-6 season during a COVID-shortened year, for a 67-57 record.
Prior to SEU, Holler built 10 years of coaching experience at various levels of competition. She started her coaching career as a senior in high school, where she volunteered as a second assistant for one of the younger teams at her volleyball club.
Throughout college, Holler stayed in the coaching world by serving as head coach for a number of club teams in the Charlotte, N.C., area. Following graduation, she went back to Triangle Volleyball Club where she was the assistant coach for two seasons and head coach for one season. All three of the teams she worked with at Triangle were national-level teams. Many alumni signed with top NCAA Division I programs around the country.
In 2014, Holler was named head women’s volleyball coach at Rolesville High School, where she led the team to their winningest season in school history. Before moving to Austin, Holler started and directed a youth volleyball league in her hometown of Wake Forest, N.C. That club has now tripled in size with more than 300 athletes.
As a student-athlete at Belmont Abbey, Holler was a four-year academic and athletic scholarship winner from 2008 to 2012. She qualified for the dean’s list and was honored as a Conference Carolina’s All-Academic Team member. The 2011 team captain, Holler, graduated in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and minors in both Education and Sociology.
