Amanda Martinez was announced as head athletic trainer for the Hilltoppers by Senior Associate Director of Athletics Melinda Terry in December 2019. The Lone Star Conference named Martinez and her staff its 2022-23 Athletic Training Staff of the Year.
Martinez comes to SEU from Texas State where she served as the Associate Athletic Trainer for the Bobcats for four and a half years. During her tenure, Martinez worked with the soccer, softball, women’s tennis, women’s golf, cheer and women’s basketball teams while overseeing one full-time staff member, 3-4 graduate assistants and 8-10 athletic training students.
In addition to rehabilitation and prevention plans, Martinez maintained departmental policies and procedures and established the new graduate assistant orientation program.
Martinez earned a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training at Texas State in 2011 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in nutrition from UT Austin in 2009.
