St. Edward's University Athletics

St. Edward's senior GABLE WHITACRE was named Regional Hitter of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) for the second time this season.
 
Whitacre was outstanding at the plate, going 7-for-13 with six runs and 12 RBI on two doubles, one triple and three home runs. He only struck out twice and recorded an on-base percentage of .538, while slugging 1.538.
 
The Austin, Texas, native leads the Heartland Conference in home runs, RBI, doubles, and slugging percentage. Whitacre has 16 games with multiple hits, 13 with multiple RBI, and is riding a 15-game hitting streak.
