Box Score AUSTIN, Texas - The St. Edward's men's soccer team fought hard against #2 Midwestern State tying the Mustangs, 0-0, Sunday afternoon at the SEU Soccer Field. In the first half, both St. Edward's (8-4-2) and #2 Midwestern State (12-0-2) had limited shot opportunities and neither was able to capitalize on those opportunities for a goal.

In the second half, Midwestern State outshot the Hilltoppers 14-3, but the St. Edward's defense was there to counteract the Mustang offense. Matt Moore (Senior, Arlington, Texas) had six saves to keep the score knotted at 0-0. One shot by either team was taken in the first overtime but no golden goal was scored and the match would go into its second and final overtime.

Joeski Williams (Senior, St. Paul, St. Kitts) tried to take the victory for the Hilltoppers with a shot in the 102 ndminute, but the shot went high. The Mustangs responded in the 108 thminute with two quick shots, but the first was blocked and the second was saved by Moore to conclude 110 minutes of play and the end of the match.

St. Edward's designated this match the Second Annual Pam Nannen Classic in honor of former Hilltopper Josh Nannen's mother who lost her battle with cancer in 2009. The Hilltoppers raised over $700 to be donated in her name to the Cancer Foundation for Life.

The Hilltoppers will be back in action Friday afternoon to face off against St. Mary's. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at the St. Mary's Soccer Field in San Antonio, Texas.
