Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – The St. Edward's men's soccer team had a tough 3-0 loss against West Texas A&M Thursday afternoon at Lewis-Chen Family Field.

St. Edward's (3-5) played a tough match against West Texas A&M (2-5). For the first half both teams fought hard working the ball around the pitch.

In the last five seconds of the first half the Buffalos, Conrad Gouldbourne, got in between the Hilltopper defense getting a header, during a free kick by Aidan Hamman. His header found the back of the net, making the match 1-0, in favor of the Buffalos.

In the second half, the Hilltoppers started off strong with multiple runs creating many opportunities for themselves but were unable to find the back of the Buffalos net.

In the 61st minute, Buffalo midfielder, Lukas Garcia, would score off of a rebounded deflection from a Hilltopper defender.

Ten minutes later, in the 71st minute, the Buffalos would again find the Hilltopper net when Rodrigo Morin scored off of a deflected corner kick by Garcia.

Even after a disappointing loss Hilltopper Coach Brian Young has faith in his team in regards to their upcoming match, “We're starting from ground zero and we're going to build back up.” “It's going to be a mental test of who's going to show up individually and collectively.”

The Hilltoppers will be back in action Sunday when they take on Eastern New Mexico. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Lewis-Chen Family Field. Live audio will be available on the St. Edward's Athletic Website.
