AUSTIN, Texas – The St. Edward's volleyball team had a come-back victory to defeat Southwestern Wednesday night in five sets, 18-25, 28-18, 22-25, 25-20, and 15-4 in the Recreation and Convocation Center.
After losing the first set, St. Edward's (9-5) rallied back from a 6-0 deficit in the second set to even the match up at one set each.
Southwestern (12-5) claimed the third set forcing pressure on the Hilltoppers to win set four and take the match to five sets. St. Edward's overcame the Pirate offense and came together to win set four, 25-20.
In the final set, the Hilltoppers jumped to an early 7-1 led by their offense and never looked back. St. Edward's coasted to a 15-4 victory to win the match.

COURTNEY TREVINO, Ale'tra Ware, and
MEREDITH BARD complied 15, 14, and 10 kills, respectively.
MARY KOEHLER and
MARY MCNAMARA each had a double-double with Koehler collecting 14 kills and 17 digs, while McNamara dished out 41 assists and 22 digs.
MICHELLE HUNDT led the defense with 34 digs.
The next match for St. Edward's will be on Saturday as they resume conference play on the Hilltop, facing off against Panhandle State at noon at the Recreation and Convocation Center.
