OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The St. Edward's men's soccer team beat Oklahoma Christian 3-0 on a wet Saturday afternoon. The Hilltoppers improved to 4-3-1 on the season.
St. Edward's excelled in all phases of the game in this match. The defense continued to excel and earned their fifth shutout in the last six games. The Hilltoppers offense tied their season high with three goals.
St. Edward's took a total of 18 shots, including 11 on goal. The Hilltoppers took three shots during the first five minutes of action including a shot by
KYLE RUCK was saved by Oklahoma Christian goalkeeper Tim Spencer. The Hilltoppers would find the net in the 11
th minute of action.

JOHN KASCHAK made two saves in the first half with one of them coming on a shot by Oklahoma Christian's Tommy Guernsey in the 24
th minute. Riley would take a shot on goal in the 38
th and 40
th minute of action only to have each attempt saved by the goalkeeper Spencer. Still in the 40
th minute, Riley would get his second assist of the match when he set up
ANDREW FOX for the goal.
In the second half, St. Edward's would limit Oklahoma Christian to just three shot attempts. Kaschak would save two of those attempts to give him four saves for the match. Riley would score a goal of his own in the 85
th minute off an assist by
COLETON STYMIEST. This was Riley's team-leading fifth goal of the season.
Coach Young had this to say after the game, “We played very good soccer on a water soaked field. The players moved the ball around well and ran for each other but we still need to finish more of our chances.”
St. Edward's will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to San Antonio to take on conference rival St. Mary's. Action will begin at 3:30.
