Murray scores two goals in Hilltoppers 5-0 win over Oklahoma Christian

Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – RACHEL MURRAY accounted for two goals in the St. Edward's women's soccer team's 5-0 win over Oklahoma Christian on Saturday afternoon at Lewis-Chen Family Field. The Hilltoppers did not allow their opponent a single shot attempt for the second straight match, outshooting the Eagles of Oklahoma Christian 28-0.  St. Edward's improves to 6-0-2 on the season and 1-0 in the Heartland Conference.
 
The Hilltopper offense put pressure on Eagle goalkeeper Lindsey Williams early in the match. Murray's first two attempts sailed high five minutes into the match. In the 14th minute, CAILYN TRAPANI's shot was blocked by the Eagle defense. Two minutes later, Murray received a cross from KATIE DONAHUE and headed the ball in the net from 12 yards out to give St. Edward's a 1-0 lead.
 
VALENCIA MOBLEY gave the Hilltoppers a 2-0 advantage in the 26th minute when she sent a shot to the far post from 25 yards out. This was Mobley's third goal of the year.
 
Murray scored her second goal of the match in the 33rd minute of action. Murray received a cross from KELLY DAVIS and headed the ball back to the other post to give St. Edward's a 3-0 lead entering halftime.
 
Each team made a change at goalkeeper to start the second half. LORRIE SANTOY entered for the Hilltoppers and Anna Walker entered for the Eagles. Just three minutes into the half, JULIA HARRISON found the loose ball and tapped it in to put St. Edward's up 4-0.
 
In the 50th minute, MEGAN ANDERSON had a shot saved by Walker. Anderson would score a minute later on a header past Walker to push the lead to 5-0. LAUREN HELLER and Trapani assisted on Anderson's goal.
 
The Hilltoppers nearly made a wholesale substation in the 67th minute with everyone being replaced except for the keeper Santoy. TAYLOR SETTECERRI had multiple shots on goal late in the game. Settecerri hit the post in the 69th minute, had a shot saved in the 73rd minute, and hit the crossbar in the 82nd minute.
 
The Hilltoppers will resume action on Monday at home against Heartland Conference rival Dallas Baptist. Kick off is set for 2:30 p.m. at the Lewis-Chen Family Field. Live stats and video will be available through the Hilltopper Athletic website.
