KINGSVILLE, Texas – The St. Edward's Baseball team pushed across three runs in the ninth inning to prevail over Texas A&M-Kingsville, 5-3, Tuesday evening at Nolan Ryan Field.
TAMU-Kingsville (28-17) got on the board first in the first inning after a miscommunication in the outfield put a runner on with two outs. The Javelinas would later score the first run of the game.
St. Edward's (32-10) finally pushed a run across in the sixth inning when the Hilltoppers loaded the bases with one out. A fielder's choice ground out by

CUTTER RUNTE for a 2-1 lead.
TAMU-Kingsville took the lead back with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
That set the stage for the top of the ninth inning. Robertson had another big hit, as he laced a single to plate two runs and tie the game.
NATE TURNER would score from third base on a wild pitch with the eventual winning run.
CAM HATCH came on in relief in the eighth inning and picked up the victory. He was outstanding, holding the Javelinas hitless and struck out four of the six players he faced.
St. Edward's has now won five in a row. Since starting the season 4-4, the Hilltoppers have rattled off wins in 28 of its last 36 contests.
The Hilltoppers will be back in action this weekend as they host Texas A&M-International. The two teams will square off in a doubleheader on Friday, beginning at 1:30 p.m. There will be a single game on Saturday between the two teams, starting at 1 p.m., and it will also be Senior Day on the Hilltop.
