AUSTIN, Texas – After scoring just three goals in their first four matches, the 15
th-ranked St. Edward's Men's Soccer team has exploded on offense during its last two matches. Saturday, the Hilltoppers pounded Ouachita Baptist for a 6-0 victory at Lewis-Chen Family Field. Couple that with an 8-0 win over Huston-Tillotson and St. Edward's has scored 14 goals in those two matches.
St. Edward's (4-0-2) kept its season-opening unbeaten streak in tact, and they made sure of that in the fourth minute.
JACK BLANTON found the ball after a blocked shot by the Tiger defense and scored from 15 yards out. That proved to be the game-winner.
DYLAN ARMSTRONG, who scored in Friday's victory, notched his third goal of the season in the 37
th minute after an Ouachita Baptist save. He was there on the doorstep after
KYLE PUJATS' header was turned away. Pujats got the assist.
In the second half, things started to open up even more for the Hilltoppers. St. Edward's got an own goal after a cross was deflected off a Tiger defender and in to the goal. Armstrong tallied his second goal of the match in the 74
th minute on an assist from
PABLO COVARRUBIAS.
The Hilltoppers pieced together great team play on the fifth goal of the match when
STEVE AOUDOU scored off a double assist from Armstrong and Covarrubias.

th minute.
JULIAN SANCHEZ played a through ball to Ruck and he beat the goalkeeper one-on-one.
St. Edward's outshot Ouachita Baptist, 20-8, and put 13 shots on goal.
"I think the best part of these last two games is that we got to play a lot of players," Head Coach Brian Young said. "I think we didn't play great in the first half, but we made some adjustments at halftime and had a much better second half."
St. Edward's will be back in action Friday when they host the top team in the region in Midwestern State. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Lewis-Chen Family Field. Live coverage can be found on the Hilltopper Athletic Website.
