OWAIN HOSKINS scored with 25 seconds remaining to send St. Edward's to a 2-1 victory Friday over West Texas A&M in the Heartland Conference Semifinals. The Hilltoppers advance to the championship match for a third consecutive season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Texas A&M broke the ice in the 31st minute on a deflected header by Mirza Dizdarevic.
- St. Edward's evened the score in the 80th minute when junior TY MOBLEY headed in a cornerkick from sophomore DYLAN ARMSTRONG.
- With time winding down, junior OWAIN HOSKINS struck a loose ball just outside the box that screamed into the right upper-90.
HILLTOPPER NOTES
- West Texas A&M outshot St. Edward's 13-12, but the Hilltoppers had more shots on goal, 7-3.
- The Buffs lead the all-time series 13-6, but St. Edward's has won the last two.
- The victory is St. Edward's first comeback win of the season. It is only the second time a team has scored first on the Hilltoppers.
