HOUSTON – St. Edward's women's basketball opened its season with a 64-32 loss to Houston in a Sunday afternoon exhibition game.
 
Freshman FAIREN SUTTON led the Hilltoppers with seven points. Junior HALEY JOLY led the defense with three steals. Additionally, SAUNDRA GUILLORY, LEXI CUNNINGHAM, KAT WILSON, and MADISON SCHENCK joined Sutton as they made their Hilltoppers debut.
 
St. Edward's was able to keep the Cougars off the scoreboard early, but struggles shooting the ball proved too much. Single-digit scores for the Hilltoppers in the first and fourth quarters helped Houston clinch the victory.
