GOODWELL, Okla. –
St. Edward's men's basketball used a strong offensive performance Monday to defeat Panhandle State 96-59 at Oscar Williams Field House.
The Hilltoppers (9-6, 1-1 Heartland) shot 55 percent from the field in the second half to pull away from the Aggies (5-6, 0-2 HC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Edward's raced out to a quick 7-0 lead in the first two minutes of action.
- Panhandle State held close at 34-30 with 4:01 left in the first half.
- The Hilltoppers distance themselves going on an 11-2 run down the stretch in the first half.
- With the score 55-41 in the second half, St. Edward's went on an 18-0 run to put the game away.
HILLTOPPER NOTES
- Senior JOHN GRAMLICH led the Hilltoppers in scoring with 17 points. The guard has been the leading scorer in four of the last six games.
- Sophomore CORY MCKENDREE led the team with eight rebounds to go along with his 11 points.
- Thirteen of the 14 active players for St. Edward's scored.
- St. Edward's has scored at least 90 points in six of its last seven games.
- St. Edward's holds a 21-8 record in the all-time series. The Hilltoppers have won 12 straight games against the Aggies.
