AUSTIN, Texas –
Seven Hilltoppers scored in double figures Thursday in a 102-86 win over Arlington Baptist at the Recreation and Convocation Center.
St. Edward's (4-5) shot a season-best 54.7 percent from the field to run its winning streak to two games.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Edward's built an 11-point lead in the game's first six minutes. Senior LEXI FATHEREE had five early points and freshman LEXI CUNNINGHAM nailed two shots from behind the arc for six points.
- Arlington Baptist took a 40-39 lead with 4:42 left in the first half. The Hilltoppers responded by ending the half on an 11-0 run to lead by double digits.
- The lead stayed in double digits the rest of the way.
HILLTOPPER NOTES
- In her first game back from injury since last season, senior LEXI FATHEREE led St. Edward's with 16 points.
- Senior SHAKERA BARNES added 14 points and nine assists. Junior HALEY JOLY chipped in with 12 points.
- The Hilltoppers outrebounded Arlington Baptist, 45-25, which included 18 offensive boards.
- St. Edward's tallied a season-high 25 assists.
- The 102 points scored by St. Edward's was the first time the Hilltoppers have eclipsed the century mark since Nov. 22, 2014, against Paul Quinn. St. Edward's won that contest 101-40.
- This was the first meeting between the two teams.

"While the score didn't indicate it, Arlington Baptist is a tough, athletic team. We did enough to keep them at bay and took care of the basketball. We have a bunch of players that can shoot and they are really starting to build a lot of confidence. We have made some great strides in these last two weeks."
