TURNING POINT
-In the 67th minute, St. Edward's won a cornerkick. After senior HAIDEN STILES took the kick, the Dustdevils tried to clear the ball. Junior PABLO COVARRUBIAS sent the ball back in where senior STEVE AOUDOU went up for a header and put it past the Dustdevil goalkeeper. With the ball headed for the goal, it bounced off the crossbar, then off a Dustdevil defender and in for a 1-0 Hilltopper lead.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-In the first half, TAMU-International was the aggressor as they sent two shots on goal in the first 20 minutes, but senior KEVIN LEIB was there to turn them away. The Dustdevils had another brilliant opportunity with just seconds remaining but their shot was also saved by Leib.
-In the second half, junior SAMUEL JACKSON had the best chance of the match to that point. Jackson received a pass on the doorstep. Just a few feet from the goal, Jackson launched his shot high over the crossbar.
-After the goal, the Hilltoppers kept the pressure on and only allowed one shot by the Dustdevils, while St. Edward's had six.

HILLTOPPER NOTES
-With the victory, St. Edward's increases its lead in the series to 14-4-4. They have now won seven-straight matchups over the Dustdevils.
-The 5-0 start is third-best in school history as the 1999 team started 9-0 and the 2008 team was 7-0 to start the year.
-The Hilltoppers have not been outshot this season.
-This was the first match St. Edward's has not had more cornerkicks than their opponents.

QUOTE FROM HEAD COACH BRIAN YOUNG
"The team didn't follow the game plan in the first half which was frustrating for the players and staff, but they came out in the second half and worked very hard individually, and did well as a team tactically. They deserved the win and shutout."
