TURNING POINT
-In the 13
th minute, St. Edward's used a nice three-man game to get on the scoreboard. Junior
SAMUEL JACKSON sent a ball to the top of the box to senior
JOSH TAYLOR who played a one-time pass to junior
JULIAN SANCHEZ. The midfielder rocketed a shot to the upper-90 near post for a 1-0 Hilltopper lead.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Taylor, a Preseason All-America selection, moved to center back 15 minutes into the game. He still had offense in mind as he took possession at the midfield line. Taylor dribbled the ball all the way to the penalty spot beating four defenders. He chipped a nice shot to the left post and banked it in for his third goal of the season.
-Another three-man tally for St. Edward's made it 3-0 in the 47
th minute. Taylor was involved yet again as he pushed a pass forward to junior
PABLO COVARRUBIAS, who back heeled the ball to sophomore
DYLAN ARMSTRONG. The forward ripped a lefty shot far post for the tally.
-UT-Permian Basin got a goal back in the 60
th minute when Tainan Bagetti sent a shot in on goal that Hilltopper goalkeeper
KEVIN LEIB saved. The senior was unable to keep the ball close to him and Brandon Lee was there for the tap in goal to reduce the Hilltopper lead to 3-1.
-The Hilltoppers put the match away in the 68
th minute after St. Edward's won a cornerkick.
PARKER FYFE sent the free kick far post and junior
GRANT MOBLEY was there for the header goal.
HILLTOPPER NOTES
-The goal allowed was only the second by the Hilltoppers this season as they have outscored teams, 18-2.

GRANT MOBLEY was his team-leading fourth of the season.
-The victory moved the Hilltoppers to a 16-2 advantage in the series history with UT-Permian Basin. St. Edward's has now won five-straight against the Falcons, outscoring them 23-4 during those contests.
QUOTE FROM HEAD COACH BRIAN YOUNG
"When the guys follow the game plan, we play very well. I think you saw two different halves. In the second half we played a lot better when we followed the plan."
