CLAREMORE, Okla. ā The St. Edward's University women's soccer team suffered its second Heartland Conference loss of the season Saturday, falling 2-1 at Soldier Field.
The Hillcats (10-3-1, 6-3-1 HC) scored in the 4' and 45' to take a 2-1 lead going into halftime. Both goals came on shots from close range, inside the 18-yard box.
The Hilltoppers (7-3-4, 5-2-3 HC) attempted a late comeback in the 81' as
KATHERINE WHITMAN scored her second goal of the season.
KAYLEIGH TOUPAL's corner kick caused a scramble in front of the goal mouth, which resulted in Whitman finding the back of the net.
Whitman managed another shot in the 85' but it was blocked and the match finished with no more attempts from either team.
