THEY SAID IT
Senior outside hitter Katie Martin's reaction to the Heartland Conference Tournament …
"It means a lot; it came really close this year, usually we've been in a solid place heading into the conference tournament. But, this year we really had to fight down to the finish and it came down to the very last conference game and it means a lot to pull out this win."
SEU Head Coach Mary DeJute on the Hilltoppers' seniors and advancing to the conference tournament …
"I'm extremely proud of the team. They stuck together, they kept the intensity very, very high. They were very aggressive; kept DBU out of their offensive system very, very well. Pleased, very pleased with what we've done today and how far we've gone. It's exciting to be able to go to the conference tournament again, so I'm looking forward to it, and I'm real proud because the kids deserve it. Katie [Martin] and Maty [McClurg] did a phenomenal job today. Both of them offensively, were very, very strong. Defensively, Maty serve-received well. They just are the glue right now, they stepped things up intensity wise. I'm happy for them, and very, very proud of what they've done and excited to see what they're going to continue to do in the next week.
