THE RUNDOWN
SAN ANTONIO – The St. Edward's University women's tennis team went 16-4 in singles play Friday and Saturday at the St. Mary's Quad at the Annemarie Tennis Center.

PAOLA CARPIO, ELISA GUILLEN, BETH HAYWARD and FANNI NOVAK all went undefeated in singles action against opponents from St. Mary's, Laredo Community College, and Texas A&M-Kingsville. LAURA GALVAN and VALENTINA MARTINEZ also posted winning singles records on the weekend.

In doubles play, three out of four teams posted winning records. The Hilltoppers finished the weekend with a 6-5 mark in doubles action.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Carpio and Hayward led SEU with an overall record of 5-1 in doubles and singles.
• Carpio now has 30 singles victories in her career.
• Galvan has 40-career singles victories and is 18-8 in tournament singles play.
• Galvan won her 50th-career doubles match at St. Mary's.
• Hayward surpassed 20-career singles wins Saturday with a career mark of 21-16.

22 – St. Edward's finished the weekend with a combined 22 victories.

 70 – The Hilltoppers won their 70th match of fall play at the St. Mary's quad.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Hilltoppers head to Midland, Texas Thursday for the ITA Oracle Regional Championships at the Bush Tennis Center. It is a three-day, double-elimination tournament.
