THEY SAID IT
SEU Head Coach Andre Cook on the snapping the road skid to St. Mary's …
"A little bit of history. We seem like we've lost every which way here. Buzzer shots, overtime, tough losses, blown out. Every way you can lose a game we've done that here, I think this was our tenth time here. I was proud of the kids' resolve. It was a tough game, here we are, on the road, St. Mary's, one-point game, 3.5 minutes to go, who's going to make the plays? And, in this league that's what it's going to come down to almost every night, in particular on the road. Some games we haven't done that, this game we did, and it just feels great to finally get that mini monkey off my back to get a win here.

Cook on St. Mary's making SEU play a slower pace of offense …
"There was a little bit where I was okay with that. Because last game at Lubbock Christian, we looked like a school-yard team. We were just chunking shots up, bad shots. We needed to run our stuff and be organized on the offensive end. I thought we were better at that today. We didn't take as many bad shots like we did against Lubbock. I thought we got better at that, so it was good to see us run our offense.

Cook on winning 250 career games …
"It's hard to believe that I've been a head coach half my life. It's my 22nd year of being a head coach and 13 at the college level, when you do what you love it goes by really fast. I've loved every minute of my job, and my career – it's not a job – my career it's not a job, my career, my profession, and when you have good kids the wins come. Good assistant coaches, good people around you, and it's nine years at St. Edward's and it's been fantastic."
