NIelsen Signs Professional Basketball Contract with Perth Wildcats

AUSTIN, Texas — St. Edward's men's basketball graduate BLAKE NIELSEN will continue his playing career in Australia's National Basketball League after signing a two-year contract with his hometown Perth Wildcats, the team announced

"Nielsen will join the program as a Development Player for NBL27, before earning elevation to the main roster ahead of NBL28, pending NBL approval."

Nielsen finished his collegiate career at St. Edward's as the program's all-time leader in assists and scored over 1,300 points. The Hilltoppers' point forward is a three-time Lone Star Conference all-conference player, earning All-LSC First Team and All-Region Second Team honors in his final season. 

The Hilltoppers posted a 25-9 record this season, earning a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. Nielsen finished his career with 1,393 points, 605 rebounds, and 477 assists.
