AUSTIN, Texas – St. Edward's women's tennis improves to 8-0 on the season after having its way with UT Permian Basin, resulting in an 8-1 victory Saturday at the Austin Tennis Academy.

The Hilltoppers (8-0) relinquished one doubles flight to the Falcons (0-4) before running through them in singles play (6-0) to improve to 2-0 in South Central Region competition.

PAOLA CARPIO won her 28
th career doubles match after her and partner
MARISSA WILLIAMS defeated Amelie Saint-Dizier and Andrea Villalobos 8-1.

th career singles match by defeating Jessica Madamba, 6-1, 6-0.

BETH HAYWARD knocked off Saint-Dizier 6-0, 6-0 to record her 30
th career singles win.

"Overall it was a very solid weekend for us. I think we are playing a high level of tennis. UTPB came out with a lot of energy and I was impressed with how we responded in singles. Very solid performance from 1-6. Our schedule just gets tougher from here so I am hoping these wins will help in preparing for that."
