THEY SAID IT
SEU head coach Andre Cook on senior SEAN WATKINS …
"He's just been a fantastic ambassador of St. Edward's University from his time on the SAAC as the president and his leadership roles on campus to the type of student that he is academically. I always say this about Sean. He's about 5'9" and about 160 pounds, but that's the only thing that's slight; his stature. Everything else, he's got a big heart, big integrity, big character, and I couldn't be more proud to coach a kid."

Cook on taking the No. 6 seed …
"Yeah just to grab the number six, not to slight on anybody that we would play, but it kind of gets you into the tournament. When you're playing in that 1-8, 2-7 the day before, at least it gives you a feel, you see some games, the guys see the venue and I believe it's a Friday evening game. So, at least it gets you into the tournament. It looks like it will be a team that's beaten us twice in Newman by a total of four points, so our guys want to get back at them and will work for the next four or five days to do that."

Cook on the takeaway from the win over Lubbock Christian …
"What I was most excited about is, I think what you saw on that court, is the respect and love that everyone has for SEAN WATKINS. Kids today now might not be able to say it, might not be able to communicate or articulate it, but what they did out there the first possession of the game, DORIAN LOPEZ, the first possession of the game dove about seven feet to get a loose ball and that was for SEAN WATKINS. You saw how guys played and competed and that was because they have that much respect and maybe they can't say it, but they showed it out there on the court."

WHAT'S NEXT
St. Edward's enters the Heartland Conference Tournament as the No. 6 seed and will face Newman in the quarterfinals Friday at 5 p.m. in Tulsa, Okla. at the Union Multipurpose Activity Center.
