GLENDALE, Ariz. – St. Edward's women's tennis closed the Firestorm Classic with another 5-0 "play-to-clinch" match Sunday vs. Western New Mexico at the Paseo Racquet Club. The Hilltoppers now boast a 13-0 record on the season.

The Hilltoppers (13-0) and Mustangs (2-4) went straight into singles play and SEU showed no mercy, taking the first five matches all in straight sets. With the win, St. Edward's now hold a 5-0 all-time series record vs. Western New Mexico and improves to 3-0 in regional matches for the 2018 campaign.

To win five matches in one weekend is a feat within itself, but to knock off the No. 16 team in the country in an all out battle in the process is quite an accomplishment. I couldn't be more proud of how we competed and how truly an overall team effort it was. I think we proved just how tough we are to ourselves and others this trip."
