Women’s soccer rolls past Eastern New Mexico to remain unbeaten in LSC

Box Score PORTALES, N.M. – St. Edward's women's soccer out-shot Eastern New Mexico 25-7 in Lone Star Conference action Thursday night on their way to a 2-1 victory to improve to 7-4-1 on year and 6-0-1 in LSC play.
 
St. Edward's got on the board first, scoring in the 33rd minute. ELI CHAVEZ found the back of the net despite a balanced back-and-forth in the first half. ENMU evened the count with a goal of their own in the 42nd minute, sending the match into halftime tied 1-1.
 
ENMU got off just one shot in the first half but made it count while SEU posted 14 shots, five on frame, before halftime.
 
Fifteen minutes into the second half the Hilltoppers got the game winner from REAGAN DYKES, assisted by SARAH GUNDERSON. SEU's defense continued to hold strong keeping the Greyhounds to just six second half shots with two on frame while posting 11 shots in the second half.
 
St. Edward's returns to action on Saturday, facing West Texas A&M at 1 pm on Saturday.
