Box Score CANYON – St. Edward's continued their run through the Lone Star Conference, defeating West Texas A&M 2-1 Saturday afternoon.
SARAH PRESTON opened the scoring in the 18th minute, assisted by
REAGAN DYKES, to put the Hilltoppers on top despite earning just four shots in the frame.
ELI CHAVEZ, assisted by
JENNA LIPSCOMB, scored just as the second half got underway and gave SEU just a little bit of breathing room. WTAMU cut the lead to just one goal in the 77th minute, but the defense took control to seal the win.
ANNABEL SWEENEY logged nine saves in goal in the win as SEU trailed 20-13 in shots. The Hilltoppers improve to 8-4-1 on the year and remain unbeaten in Lone Star Conference play with a 7-0-1 conference mark. They return home to face UT Tyler on Thursday at 4:30 pm at Lewis-Chen Family Field.
