CLEBURNE – St. Edward's run in the Heartland Conference Tournament came to an end following a 4-3 loss to Rogers State on Saturday evening in the championship game.

The Hillcats (34-16) scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning to overtake the Hilltoppers.

St. Edward's took a 1-0 lead in the opening frame, as JACOB VASQUEZ laid down a squeeze bunt that allowed RYAN MCPHAIL to score.

Rogers State pulled even in the third and then took a lead in the fourth on a solo homer.
