ARLINGTON – The St. Edward's women's tennis team competed in the ITA Regional Championship last weekend. KATE MALAZONIA and LOLI PERIM reached the quarterfinals of the A singles draw, while Perim and LARA SCHMID won the A consolation doubles draw to lead the Hilltoppers.

NOTES
- KATE MALAZONIA was the overall No. 4 seed in the A singles draw.
- Malazonia won her first three matches, but lost in the quarterfinals.
- LOLI PERIM reached the quarterfinals after knocking off one of the seeded players in the Round of 16.
- All six SEU players in the A singles draw won their Round of 64 matchups.
- ZOE DUFF also won her opener in the B singles draw to give SEU a 7-0 record in the first round.
- Perim and LARA SCHMID dropped their opening-round A doubles draw contest, but the duo won three straight in the consolation bracket and then captured the consolation championship by a walkover result.

"I think we had a great showing as a team. To have all seven players win their first-round matches was huge, and then obviously Kate (Malazonia) and Loli (Perim) making it to the quarterfinals was a big deal. I'm also really proud of Lara (Schmid) and Loli for battling through the consolation draw in doubles after a tough first-round loss. Overall, I think we showed a lot of potential in this last tournament and I think the team is fired up to get to work the rest of the semester in preparation for the spring."
