WICHITA FALLS, Texas – In their first road game since the end of November, the St. Edward's women's basketball team made it look easy in an 86-74 Lone Star Conference win over Midwestern State Thursday evening.
St. Edward's used an 11-0 run in the first quarter to take a commanding lead, 17-6, and watched their lead swell to 24 in the second quarter on Haley Blankenship's three, putting SEU up 46-22.
St. Edward's held on to a 20-point advantage until under one minute to play in the contest, confidently securing the win.
A steady stream of points from a variety of Hilltoppers led to the win.
DEIJAH BLANKS led the way with 23 points on 9-15 shooting while Blankinship added 16 points on 6-11 shooting from the field and 4-7 from three-point range.
CHRISTINA MASON added in 12 points and D'Aviyon Magazine 10 points in the win.
SAMMIE DUFEK led with eight rebounds with Blanks adding seven boards.
SEU improves to 8-4 on the season, 4-3 in LSC play and remain on the road to face Cameron on Saturday at 2 pm.
