DALLAS, Texas – St. Edward's fell behind early and wass unable to make up ground as they fell to Dallas Baptist University 84-72.
 
DBU shot out to a 16-5 lead in the first 13:44 before SEU got back in the game. AUGUST HAAS hit a layup to pull the Hilltoppers within two, 19-17, with 9:45 to play in the first.
 
St. Edward's was never able to take the lead and trailed by 13, 45-32, at the break.
 
DBU led by 27 midway through the second half as SEU was unable to pull within single digits as the game wound to a close.
 
LUKE PLUYMEN led with 18 points, going 5-7 from the field and 2-3 from three point range while COREY SHERVILL was the only other Hilltopper in double-figures with 14 points. Shervill also led on the boards with eight rebounds.
 
SEU falls to 23-3 on the season and 17-3 in Lone Star Conference play. They return to action on Saturday, facing Tarleton at 4 pm.
