CANYON, Texas - St. Edward's women's basketball faced their toughest opponent of the season, taking on #15 West Texas A&M University Monday, falling 77-42.
The Hilltoppers were never able to score more than five field goals in a quarter as West Texas built an early lead. SEU was -15 in rebounding margin but committed just 18 turnovers while forcing 18.
The Buffs' offense was hot, shooting 59.3 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three point range while the Hilltoppers were held to just 30.9 percent from the field and 30 percent from long range.
D'AVIYON MAGAZINE was the leading scorer for SEU with eight points while
CHRISTINA MASON and
JAZMINE JACKSON added seven each. Mason posted a team-high four steals while Mason and Jackson led on the boards with four rebounds each.
St. Edward's falls to 3-6 on the season and 3-6 in LSC play. They remain in Canyon to face WT once again on Tuesday for a 5:30 pm tip.
