OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – St. Edward's volleyball was edged out in the first two sets to set up a 3-1 loss to Oklahoma Christian in Lone Star Conference action Friday evening.
 
The robust Hilltopper offense was held to just .124 attack percentage for the match, hitting below .070 in two sets.
 
A big run early the in the first set was enough to get the Eagles a big enough lead to win set one 25-22, and OC stayed just one step ahead of SEU in the second set to win 25-21.
 
The Hilltoppers had a strong showing in the third set to keep from being swept, winning 25-21, before dropping the fourth set 25-20.
 
MAYA SMALLS was strong offensively with 14 kills and a .591 attack percentage. KAITLYN KRAFKA was not far behind, posting 13 kills with just five errors on 34 attempts for a .235 attack percentage.
 
Krafka also led defensively with 18 digs. Sarah Konovdoff added 14 digs and Nicole Grant 13.
 
St. Edward's drops to 9-8 on the year and 4-6 in Lone Star Conference play. They return to action on Saturday, facing UAFS.
