SAN ANGELO, Texas – The red-hot St. Edward's volleyball team continued their outstanding postseason run by defeating #3 seed Lubbock Christian in straight sets Friday night to advance to the Lone Star Conference Championship match.
Clearly on a mission, SEU served five straight points and eventually led by 11, 16-5, in the first set. A late LCU run brought the Chaps within three-points, 20-17, but
JILLIENNE CONNELL's kill got the Hilltoppers back on track to close the set 25-21.
Lubbock Christian led early in set two, but St. Edward's stayed the course and scored five straight to take a 15-12 lead. SEU never lost the lead from that point on and steadily closed out the set two win 25-21.
With all the momentum on their side, St. Edward's opened set three on a 6-0 run, debilitating the Chaps. SEU went tup 15-4, spelling impending doom for LCU. The Chaps had one final push late, getting within five points 20-15, but that was all SEU would allow, winning the set 25-22.
SEU was led offensively by

KAITLYN KRAFKA added 12 kills while
EMILY TRAN posted 43 assists while leading the hitters to a .223 attack percentage.
