Men's basketball returns to form with win over Florida Soutthern

Box Score LAKELAND, Florida – The high-powered St. Edward's men's basketball offense returned to form in an 86-79 win over Florida Southern Saturday evening.
 
St. Edward's took control of the game early, leading by eight points on a UCHE DIBIAMAKA three seven minutes into the contest. Just before the midway point, SEU led by ten, 18-8.
 
FSC pulled within one point, 23-22, with six minute to play in the half, but St. Edward's closed on a run to lead by four, 37-33, at halftime.
 
Florida Southern quickly evened the score, 40-40, early in the second half, but SEU responded with a run of their own to go back up by ten, 52-42.
 
The Hilltoppers never trailed the rest of the way, holding the Mocs at arm's length throughout the remainder of the game despite FSC's best efforts.
 
St. Edward's shot 40 percent from the floor and 43 percent from three-point range in the win with Dibiamaka leading the way with 23 points. DANIEL VENZANT added 22 points, MASON HIX 15 and BENNETT MOHN 12.
 
Defensively, LOGAN COOK pulled down ten rebounds as the Hilltoppers led 49-38 on the glass.

SEU improves to 4-2 on the year and return home to host Arlington Baptist on Saturday, December 4 at 3 pm.
