AUSTIN – After a trying week in Central Texas thanks to the winter storms the St. Edward's volleyball team took to the court against Texas A&M-Kingsville Tuesday evening, falling in straight sets for the first time this season.
The Javelinas rattled off seven straight points midway through the first set to take a 15-7 lead that SEU could not recover from, falling 25-16.
Another big run early in the second set put the Hilltoppers in a hole once again, trailing 9-3 before eventually dropping the set 25-18.
With all the momentum on their side, the Javelinas were able to take the third set 25-18 to win the match.
MADDIE MIKSCH led with nine kills with a .261 attack percentage.
NATALIA WALLS posted 17 assists while Nicole Grant led defensively with 16 digs.
St. Edward's falls to 3-4 on the season and 3-4 in Lone Star Conference play. The two teams play their final contest against each other of the season on Wednesday at 6 pm.
