KINGSVILLE, Texas – St. Edward's started strong but were unable to hold onto the momentum, dropping their match against Texas A&M-Kingsville 3-1 Wednesday evening.
The Hilltopper offense hit .222 in the first set before going quiet, winning 25-19 in the first set. SEU was then held to below .200 in the final three sets while TAMUK posted strong attack percentages throughout, including hitting .519 in the fourth set.
MADDIE MIKSCH led with 11 kills on the evening with a .219 attack percentage and just four errors.
CAROLINE SWAN added ten kills.
EMILY TRAN posted a team-high 22 assists with
KAITLYN KRAFKA and Nicole Grant leading defensively with 15 digs each. Krafka added five blocks with
AJANI HODGES posting six.
St. Edward's falls to 3-5 on the season and 3-5 in Lone Star Conference play. They return to action on Tuesday, March 2 and head to San Antonio to face St. Mary's at 6 pm.
