AUSTIN – St. Edward's and Oklahoma Christian combined for six homeruns Friday as they opened a three-game series. OC took the game one win 6-4.
MORGAN ALLEN started the Hilltoppers off strong with a solo homerun to start the bottom of the first. OC settled in and finally pushed runs across, scoring three runs on two homeruns in the third.
ZARIAN FORDE's one out double in the third set the stage for a two-run shot by Allen to tie the game 3-3.
CHASE COS scored on an Eagle error to put SEU up 4-3 through three.
OC took advantage of the wind blowing out to secure three more runs on two homeruns to lead 6-4 in the top of the fifth. SEU was unable to get anything else going offensively as they took the loss.
MORGAN ALLEN had a big day at the plate, going 2-5 with two homeruns and three RBIs.
CHASE COS and
ZARIAN FORDE added two hits each.
BLAKE HOLUB suffered the loss, his second of the season, allowing six runs on eight hits with 11 strikeouts and just three walks.
The Hilltoppers drop to 4-6 on the year and 4-6 in LSC play. They resume the series on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 1 pm.
