CANYON, Texas – St. Edward's men's basketball was dominant in their LSC semifinal matchup, downing Texas A&M-Kingsville 91-74 Friday evening. The win advances SEU to the LSC Championship game on Saturday.
Once again
SEAN PHILLIPS was huge for the Hilltoppers off the bench, scoring 25 points on 8-11 shooting from the floor and 7-10 from three point range.
DANIEL VENZANT added 18 points and five assists while
B.J. MAXWELL added 14 points.
RYAN GARZA posted 13 points and
MARCUS HILL 11 as St. Edward's shot an impressive 46 percent from the floor and 48 percent from three-point range.
St. Edward's took control of the game early and never looked back, holding a comfortable lead throughout the game.
The win improves SEU to 12-7 on the year and they return to the LSC Championship game, facing West Texas A&M at 3 pm.
