AMARILLO, Texas – St. Edward's volleyball made quick work of Fort Lewis, defeating the Skyhawks in straight sets to record their third win of the weekend.
SEU dominated the first two sets, winning 25-16 in both. The Hilltoppers took advantage of Skyhawk errors late in both matches to make runs to the set wins.
Fort Lewis hung close throughout the third set, but St. Edward's was able to score the final three points in succession to close out the set and match 25-23.
SEU hit an astounding .419 in the first set and cooled off to end the match with a .182 attack percentage.
CAROLINE SWAN led the way with ten kills while
KAITLYN KRAFKA and
MAYA SMALLS added nine each. Smalls was incredibly efficient, hitting .412 while adding a team high four blocks including two solo.
SARAH KONOVODOFF posted 19 digs to lead the defense while
EMILY TRAN recorded 29 assists.
The Hilltoppers improve to 3-0 on the year and face SWOSU in the final match of the weekend at 4:30 pm.
