WICHITA FALLS, Texas – St. Edward's men's basketball's offensive woes continued Thursday night as they fell 60-50 to Midwestern State, shooting just 30 percent from the floor and 17.2 percent from three-point range.
The first half was tight throughout but MSU maintained a slight advantage most of the frame and led by three, 26-23, at halftime.
The Mustangs jumped out on a 9-0 run to start the second half and quickly went up by 12, 35-23. SEU responded with a run of their own to climb within five, 40-35, with 12:35 remaining in the game.
The Hilltoppers were unable to get any closer, however, as Midwestern State kept SEU at arm's length the rest of the way.
UCHE DIBIAMAKA was the lone Hilltopper in double figures with 16 points, going 13 from the floor and 2-5 from three-point range.
LOGAN COOK grabbed eight boards and
JAKE KRAFKA six as SEU was outrebounded 45-32.
St. Edward's falls to 8-6 on the year and 1-2 in Lone Star Conference action. They remain on the road to take on DBU on Saturday at 2 pm.
