AUSTIN, Texas - The St. Edward's men's basketball team defeated Oklahoma Christian 79-64 while shooting over 41 percent from the field and over 43 perfect from three-point range.
It didn't take long for the Hilltoppers to find their stride in their homecoming match. SEU took their first lead with a little over two minutes into the game, and they never looked back.
The Hilltoppers held a 40-33 lead at the end of the first half. Seven threes in the first half helped propel them to the lead heading into halftime.
It was much of the same from the SEU offense in the second half as they drained seven more threes and shot over 45 percent from the field. The Hilltoppers biggest lead of the afternoon came with less than a minute in the game as they took a commanding 18 point lead.
The Hilltoppers were led by Uche Dibiamaka, who posted 23 points, Bennett Mohn added 15, Daniel Venzant 12, and Jake Krafka 12. Logan Cook led all players with 11 boards, and Daniel Venzant led all players with eight assists.
The win puts the Hilltoppers at 13-11 overall and 7-7 in Lone Star Conference play.
SEU is back on the road Thursday night as they take on Commerce. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
