The first three innings of game one went scoreless as both teams struggled to reach base early.Â

The Eagles put up five runs to take a commanding 5-0 lead over the Hilltoppers in the bottom of the fourth. A two-run double and a bases-clearing triple allowed the Eagles to take the lead.

After a scoreless fifth, an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth extended the Eagles lead to 6-0.Â

Starting pitcher Luke Short picked up his first loss of the season, giving up six runs off five hits through five-plus innings.Â

Game Two: SEU 13, OC 4

In game two, SEU's offense lit up the scoreboard scoring early and often throughout the game.

SEU took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. A fielder's choice allowed Morgan Allen to score the game's first run, an RBI double by Turner Olsen, and an RBI single by Chase Cos helped the Hilltoppers offense get started.Â

The eagles tied the game at 3-3Â in the bottom of the first after a bases-loaded walk and a two-run single up the middle.Â

In the second, the Hilltoppers would add a run to take a 4-3 lead off of a Jake Hahn RBI single down the left-field line. In the third, the Hilltoppers would add two more runs thanks to a Kyler Kerlin two-run single to left field to take a 6-3 lead.Â

In the bottom of the fourth, a solo home run by the Eagles brought the score to 6-4. However, a two-run home run by first baseman Jake Hahn in the top of the fifth extended the Hilltoppers lead over the Eagles to 8-4.

After a scoreless sixth, SEU would add five more runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach. A Turner Olsen two-run double and a Chase Cos three-run home run allowed the Hilltoppers to take a commanding 13-4 lead entering the final half-inning of the game.Â

Eric Worden was awarded his third victory of the season in the win, allowing one run on four hits in five-plus innings of work.
